Counting SMD Reels without an EPD

Run Screen
When the ENTER key is pressed while PITCH is
flashing, the screen shown in Figure 1-23 will
appear. This screen gives the operator the oppor-
tunity to continue and begin counting a reel or to
return to the Setup screen and review the settings
there.
If no further changes to any settings are needed, align the first pocket to be counted so that the
body of the part is centered between the scribe marks on the left side of the tape guide, as shown
in Figure 1-25. Then press the STOPGO key to continue.
Align Tape Screen
When Run Mode is entered, an Align Tape Screen
will appear before advancing to the Run screen.
The Align Tape screen appears as shown n Figure
1-24.
Center the last empty pocket before first part to be
counted between the scribe lines on the left side of
the tape guide.
Once this is done, press ENT to continue to the
Run Screen. A confirmation screen will appear
momentarily and then the Run screen will appear.
The Run screen will appear as shown in Figure 1-
26.
The counter will now begin counting pockets that
pass through the count head, whether the carrier
is moved by hand or by the takeup motors.
The counter will not begin transferring the carrier to the take-up reel until the STOP/GO key is
pressed. If the leader of the reel is too short to attach to the take-up reel with the first part aligned
between the scribe marks, the operator can pull the carrier through by hand and attach it. Once
the carrier tape is attached to the take-up reel, press STOP/GO and the counter will begin trans-
ferring the reel. The speed at which the counter pulls the reel can be set with the speed control
beneath the LCD screen. Alternatively, part or all of the reel can be transferred by hand.
Press STOPGO to continue
Press Enter to Go back.
