Counting SMD Reels without an EPD
The arrow symbol on the Run Screen indicates the direction in which the counter will count the
reel. The direction can be changed by pressing either arrow key while the counter is stopped.
The total count of parts is also displayed.
STOP/GO=RUN indicates that the counter will begin running when STOP/GO key is pressed.
While the counter is running, pressing the STOP/GO key will stop the counter.
Pressing the ESC key will exit the Run screen and return to the Setup screen. This will reset the
count to zero (0); therefore, this should not be done unless the count is complete or being
restarted.
Stopped Screen
When the counter stops after counting has
begun, the Stopped Screen will be displayed.
This could occur because the stop count has
been reached or the operator has stopped the
counter and the carrier has not moved for more
than three seconds. The screen will appear in
one of two ways, depending on the options
installed as shown in Figure 1-27.
The counter will remain in Run mode and continue counting while stopped. The operator can
turn the reels manually to reach an exact count, if desired. Alternatively, pressing STOP/GO will
cause the counter to resume transferring the reel.
The Stopped Screen also displays the direction arrow and the current count. When this screen is
displayed, the operator can change the counting direction by pressing the left or right arrow key.
If the reel count is complete, the operator can choose to press 5 on the keypad to send the parts
count data to an hardware option, if one is installed and enabled. Otherwise, pressing the ESC
key will clear the current count and return to the Setup Screen.
The “5=” message will appear if a hardware option is installed and enabled and will depend on
the hardware option that is installed. In Figure 1-27, the label printer option is enabled. If the PC
option is enabled, the message will read 5=SEND TO PC.
