Care and maintenance
Cleaning the exterior of the appliance
From time to time, wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth and polish dry.
Buildup of fluff
Fluff is made up of fine textile fibres that largely come from the manufacturing process
(new items), from wear and tear during use and from items being washed. Fluff is not
caused by excessive strain on the washing in the appliance. Even when washing is
hung out to dry on a washing line, fluff is shed when the washing is shaken out or
ironed.
Fluff sticks to washing when it is wet. But when a warm air flow dries the washing, the
fluff is released and gets trapped in the door filter. This is why there is always a build-
up of fluff in the filter – sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the type of
washing – after tumble drying. The degree of dryness of the washing also plays a role.
If the washing is overdried, there will be a greater build-up of fluff in the filter than if
the washing were only dried to the stage of being damp and ready to iron.
