Storing the drill
Figure 5.16
The drill should be stored indoors when not in use. This is particularly important because the drill
contains electronic equipment. The electronic components are of very high quality and can
withstand a lot of moisture but we still recommend that the drill be stored indoors. The Control
Box should be stored at room temperature during the winter and between seasons.
Highly finished metal parts of the drill, e.g. the piston rods and wearing surfaces, should be
greased before winter storage.
Ensure that the drill is thoroughly cleaned. Let the emptying hatch remain open and remove the
air hose from the ejector tube to allow air to circulate.
Before the drill is unfolded in freezing temperatures, it must be allowed to stand for a while in a
warm building for the seed hoses to become flexible again.
5.10 Lubrication points
Be safety conscious and do not crawl under the drill to lubricate. Lubricate from above, or support
the drill securely on trestles. See ”1 Safety regualtions” on page 8.
Lubricate regularly as shown below: the disc bearings should be greased until grease appears or
by 2-3 strokes of the grease gun.
The lubrication chart with picture references can be found in the Spare Parts list.
Grease into all grease nipples at the intervals specified and always after pressure washing the drill.
Never direct water onto a bearing. It is easy to spoil seals and ball bearings with a pressure washer
since water can be forced into the bearing and cause rusting.
Lubricate at the end of each season.
