3.10 Adjusting the tool bars
Figure 3.22
The tool bars are normally preset at the factory.
The tool bars are connected to a Master and Slave type lifting system. Before adjusting a tool bar,
the hydraulic system must be bled and zeroed in the same way as that of the lifting system, see
”3.7 Adjusting sowing depth” on page 31.
Bleeding must be done with the drill in working mode
and the tool bar fully raised so that the hydraulic rams are fully extended.
Check the basic setting of the tool bars with the drill hitched to the tractor, fully unfolded, resting
on the seed coulters and on a firm surface. If necessary, adjust the piston rods (A) to obtain the
same operating angle for all tool bars. Loosen the opposing nut (B) and turn the rod with the hy-
draulic ram still in position. The piston rods can only be adjusted out to a maximum exposed
thread length (C) of 20 mm.
Fine adjustments can be made afterwards in the field by adjusting the piston rods so that all sec-
tions have the same working depth. Adjust the angle and depth of the forward tool bar in relation
to the rear bar using the series of holes in the parallel plate (E). Wear plates (F, see the Spare Parts
list) should be fitted when the Crossboard tines have worn down until only 60 mm remains below
the bottom hole.
