13.1.2
Electrical installation
All supply voltages must be switched off while installing the module. Also observe the safety instructions in the
chapter 4 Safety instructions as well as the applicable regulations at the installation site.
Specifications for EMC compliant cabling must be strictly adhered to.
Required voltage supply of the SMGM module is +24 VDC ±10% and may only be supplied by voltage sources
that have safety extra-low voltage.
DANGER!
Electric shock hazard
Death, serious injuries
►
Supply the SMGM module from voltage sources that have safety extra-low voltage
(e.g. SELV or PELV according to EN 61131-2 / EN 50178)
►
Protective extra-low voltage circuits must always be safely isolated from circuits
with dangerous voltages.
WARNING!
Risk of fire in the event of component failure
Accidents and serious injuries
►
Power supply and the connected modules must have appropriate external fuses.
WARNING!
Danger from open connections -> device malfunction
Accidents and serious Injuries
►
To ensure the SMGM module function, all module connections must be screwed.
Connections that are not required (M12) must be provided with the M12-IP54 end
caps (black caps). Three of these caps are included with the module to terminate
connections that are not required.
NOTICE!
Danger from excessive voltage due to external power supply
Destruction or damage to the module
►
When using power packs, it must be ensured that voltages higher than 60 VDC
cannot occur in the event of a fault. The actual behavior of the power supply unit
used must be requested from the respective manufacturer, because according to
the EN 60950 standard, up to 120 V is permissible in the event of a fault.
