General information
DANGER!
Non-observance of safety instructions during module replacement
Severe to fatal injuries.
►
The safety instructions in this document as well as the on-site safety regulations
have to be observed.
CAUTION!
Danger from improper fastening
Injuries, malfunctions and damage to the modules.
►
The module has to be fastened to the four mounting brackets. Make sure that the
mounting cannot become loose as a result of vibration.
TIPS AND RECOMMENDATIONS!
In the event that a component is replaced in an existing system, the SD card from the
device to be replaced has to be transferred to the replacement unit of the same type
or to the SMGM-RU module!
If the configuration of the SD card (SMGM-xx) does not match the configuration of the
replacement module (except in the case of the SMGM-RU), the module will not accept
the configuration on the SD card when the module is booted. The module keeps its
original configuration.
If an SMGM module has to be replaced, the installed SD card always has to be replaced with it.
When the SD card is replaced, system-specific parameters are imported into the new module. These are:
•
IP addresses
•
Device name
•
Module name
•
Communication parameters
In general, only SMGM modules of the same type° can be switched out against each other (applies for all sys-
tems):
•
SMGM-SI-1 to SMGM-SI-1
•
SMGM-SI-2 to SMGM-SI-2
•
SMGM-DI-ST2 to SMGM-DI-ST2
•
SMGM-SC to SMGM-SC
Only the SMGM-RU module can be used as replacement for all SMGM module types.
If the SMGM-RU is installed and the SD card from the module to be exchanged is inserted, the module type
and configuration of the SD card are adopted.
The SMGM-RU can be reconfigured any number of times.
* The type also includes the function and the association to a system (LITE, Standard, BCC/DCS, ADV, eRTG).
