Basic settings
The system has been specially optimized for use in PROFINET / PROFIsafe networks. The devices recognize
the PROFINET/IO protocol and transmit it with RT priority. Other protocols, which are normally prioritized via
the VLAN tag, are always subordinate to the RT priority.
The minimum possible PROFINET-IO / PROFIsafe cycle is 16 ms (8 ms advanced modules).
TIPS AND RECOMMENDATIONS!
Information about S7 connections
S7 connections should be avoided when creating the application, because it is not
suitable for use as a real-time protocol via system due to the underlying TCP/IP con-
nection. The system-related cycle results in the TCP/IP protocol determining an exces-
sive value for the retransmission timeout, which has a negative impact on the real-time
behavior.
Remedy/solution: Change the communication to PROFINET-IO.
