Design of the heat pump
The weather-controlled energy balance controller of the
heat pump can control the following heating installation cir-
cuits:
– a heating circuit,
– an indirectly heated domestic hot water cylinder,
– a hot water circulation pump,
– a buffer circuit.
In order to extend the system, a buffer circuit can be used
to connect up to six additional VR 60 mixed circuit modules
(accessories), each with two mixer circuits.
The mixed circuits are set up by a heating engineer via the
controller on the operating panel of the heat pump. To
operate them more conveniently, VR 90 remote control
devices can be connected for the first eight heating circuits.
An external auxiliary heater can be connected to the heat
pump, which can be used:
– to support heating and hot water handling if the heat
source provides insufficient thermal energy.
– for emergency operation in the event of malfunctions
caused by faults with a long-term lock-out of the heat
pump.
– to maintain the emergency frost protection function in
the event of such malfunctions.
The auxiliary heater can be used for heating mode and/or
for DHW loading. The controller can be set up by the heat-
ing engineer in such a way that it switches on automatically
for heating mode or DHW loading separately as mentioned
above (auxiliary), or is switched on only for emergency
operation and emergency frost protection.
The geoTHERM heat pumps can optionally be equipped
with external passive cooling in order to provide for com-
fortable, cool room temperatures in your living rooms at
high outside temperatures during the summer operation.
