BUS TOP K / SOLAR / C
31
With the hatch open the fans collect
air from the cabin interior to be
expelled through side openings in
the cover inside panelling. The
battery charge conservation is used
to keep the battery charged with the
hatch closed.
The hatch basically consists of the
cover assembly with control disk
and the integrated drive with push
up locking mechanism, the frame
and the inner frame. The top of the
cover assembly accommodates a
foil type solar module for the power
supply of the fans in the cover inside
panelling or to the battery for
charging.
NOTE
With a control circuitry “comfort
closure” the stationary ventilation
does not operate when the ignition
is off.
1.2.1 Features of
Bus Top Solar
The Bus Top Solar increases
passenger comfort in particular by
stationary ventilation exploiting
solar energy. Venting performance
is proportional to insolation.
Advantages of stationary
ventilation
•
comfortable cabin climate
•
reduction of cabin interior
heat-up when bus is stationary
•
reduction of workload of air
conditioning system
•
no workload on battery
•
increase of comfort in travel
busses during waiting times
Advantages of battery charge
conservation
•
compensation for “dormant”
users (cool box, TV, etc.)
•
recharge of vehicle battery with
engine off (e.g. during prolonged
waiting times)
