Take out the generator and components and
visually check that they are perfectly intact; now
carefully clean it and perform all the operations
indicated below.
Note: the earth cables and extension cables are
not included with the generator.
GENERATOR EARTH RETURN
!
!
IMPORTANT! Risk of electric shock and
electrocution.
!
!
IMPORTANT! For electrical safety the
generator must be connected to a permanent
earth return system, through a connection to
the terminal marked with the symbol (pos.11).
!
!
The earth cable is not included with the genera-
tor and before performing any operation consult
the “Warnings” in these instructions. To set up
this system, contact a qualified electrician. Do not
attempt to do it yourselves.
Do not connect other appliances to this earth
return. Do not use the generator if there is no
earth return.
EXTENSION CABLE
The extension cable is not included with the genera-
tor, but it is an essential component for transporting
electrical energy to the user (lighting, electrical tool,
etc.). For its purchase and use, contact a qualified
electrician who will be able to advise you.
Fundamental elements for the choice are:
- watertight for use outdoors
- equipped with an earth cable (if the user is a class
I appliance, i.e. with an earth cable, it is not to be
confused with the generator earth return)
- a suitable section for each conductor so as to
prevent overheating with the risk of fire
- not excessively long so as to prevent voltage drops
When using the extension cable:
- completely uncoil the cable reel preventing tangles
- keep it far from water, damp areas, swimming
pools and pedestrian and vehicle transit areas
- do not use it if it is broken, cut or there are ex-
posed wires, etc.
4-STROKE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE (4T)
!
!
IMPORTANT! Each operation indicated below
must be carried out while the engine is off and
the engine start switch is in the “STOP O - OFF”
position.
!
!
IMPORTANT! Always wear safety gloves and
safety goggles.
The engine is supplied without lubricating oil and
without fuel. Starting the engine without oil or with
an insufficient amount of oil will irreparably damage
it and cause the warranty to become null and void.
ENGINE OIL
!
!
IMPORTANT! The engine is supplied without
lubricant oil: do not operate the machine! You
must first add oil to the machine.
Use a quality, highly detergent oil for 4T engines,
classified under API categories SG or SF. An SAE
15W-40 oil is suitable for all working temperatures,
but it is always best to choose the oil type based
on the average temperatures of the area.

ture of use

FIRST USE AND TOPPING UP THE ENGINE OIL
(fig.C)
1. Position the machine on a stable, level surface.
2. Unscrew the oil cap (pos.29) in an anti-clock-
wise direction and wipe the end. To reach the cap,
according to the model, unscrew the screws and
remove a door (pos.20-21).
3. Fill with the required quantity of oil (see the
technical specifications).
4. Screw the cap back on, wait a few seconds,
check the oil level as shown in the figure, and
top up if necessary. The engine oil level must be
within the range indicated on the cap (or in the
figure); a greater or lesser quantity than the one
prescribed will damage the engine.
5. Tighten the cap completely by turning it clockwise.
6. Wipe with a cloth any drops of oil spilled on
the machine.
7. Reassemble the door and tighten all the screws.
SUBSEQUENT USE, LEVEL CHECK AND TOPPING
UP THE ENGINE OIL
!
!
IMPORTANT! You must check the oil level
when the engine is cold before each use.
!
!
IMPORTANT! The oil used contains sub-
stances that are harmful to health. Wear protec-
tive gloves.
