IMPORTANT! The connection cable between
the socket on the generator and battery must
be handled with care and attention to prevent a
dangerous short circuit.
Manual reset
The generator is equipped with an automatic
electric disconnection device if an anomaly is
detected in the 12V power supply; this device
prevents serious damage to the generator, but it is
not able to control the battery status or to prevent
battery damage.
If the device intervenes it must be pressed to reset
it (pos.13); however, the problem that has caused
the protection to intervene must be discovered.
With the engine off, check the electrical connec-
tions (e.g. short circuit) and the battery conditions
(e.g. inverted polarities, electrolyte level, etc. - if
necessary contact a car electrician).
Charging the battery
1. Prepare the battery (not included), by reading
the battery instructions; disconnect it physically
from the vehicle and keep it at a distance from
the generator.
2. Prepare the cable for the connection (pos.35
where fitted).
3. Start the generator and wait 2 minutes for the
engine to warm up and rotate normally.
4. Check the warning light (pos.16) is on; if it is
flashing wait.
5. Connect the gripper of the positive pole + (red)
to the positive pole + of the battery. Take care
with the other end of the cable as the plug is live:
do not touch any metal parts of the plug and do
not place it in contact with other metal parts or
with the ground.
6. Connect the gripper of the negative pole - (black)
to the negative pole - of the battery.
7. Plug the cable into the 12V socket on the genera-
tor electrical control panel (pos.10)
8. Leave the battery connected until it is fully
charged (for the time see the battery instructions).
9. After charging disconnect the plug from the
socket. Take care as the plug is live: do not touch
any metal parts of the plug and do not place it in
contact with other metal parts or with the ground.
10. Disconnect the negative pole gripper - (black)
from the battery.
11. Disconnect the positive pole g (red)
from the battery.
12. Turn off the generator.
MAINTENANCE
!
!
IMPORTANT! All operations indicated below
must be performed with the engine off, the switch
in the off position, all the plugs disconnected
from the electrical control panel, the spark
plug cap off and the engine cooled to ambient
temperature.
IMPORTANT! Do not tamper with or try to repair
the machine; some operations must be per-
formed at an authorised service centre.
IMPORTANT! If in doubt, contact an authorised
service centre.
The maintenance plan is designed to keep your
generator in perfect condition. Maintenance checks
and operations performed regularly contribute to
maintaining the quality, safety, economical use and
commercial value intact.
The checks covered by the maintenance plan must
be validated by the authorised service centre, with
the stamp, date and signature.
This handbook with the details of the periodic
maintenance operations provides proof that the
generator has been correctly serviced. This is
particularly important in the event of resale and
for any operations covered by warranty. Failure
to perform the required maintenance invalidates
the warranty.
For cleaning do not use aggressive or flammable
detergents or water. The plastic parts can easily
be damaged by chemical agents.
For some operations doors and guards may need
to be removed/opened; at the end put them back
and tighten with screws. Do not use the machine
if any guards, doors and/or screws are missing.
