4.5.7 - UNLOADING
Avoid stopping the mixing auger when fully loaded. It is
recommended to unload the mixed ration immediately af-
ter mixing. A fully loaded tub left sitting for a long period
of time will allow the mixed ration to settle in the tub and
on the auger flighting.
It will take more horse power and cause more stress on the drive
mechanism
To adjust the height of the discharge conveyor, change the length of
the chains on the sides of the conveyor For best performance, set
at the lowest height possible The conveyor motor will start running
when the hydraulic cylinder reaches full stroke
4.5.8 - TRACTOR OPERATING SPEED
Run tractor at no more than ¾" rated tractor RPM When the mixture
consists of a high percentage of hay, this will reduce the spillage
of hay
4.5.9 - CUTTING KNIFES
The quantity and location of knifes that come standard with the mixer
are what we think is the best cutting action with a minimum of hor-
sepower requirements
Removing knifes will decrease the speed of cutting action and re-
duce the horsepower requirements Adding extra knifes will help
break down and cut long stem faster but will increase horsepower
requirements
