Lighting with a taper.
Important: When lighting with a match or taper be very careful not to place
naked flames by the plastic / rubber coated leads.
Homeflame Dream model.
In the unlikely event of failure of the
ignition spark, the pilot can be lit by a
taper or long spill. To do this, remove the
lower front casting and firefront casting
then insert a taper or spill as shown in
figure 3. Operate the slide control as
described previously.
Homeflame Harmony model.

In the unlikely event of failure of the
ignition spark, the pilot can be lit by a
taper or long spill. Carefully pull the
bottom of the fascia forward then lift it
upward and forward.

Place the fascia away from the gas fire.

Insert the taper or spill as shown in figure 3. Operate the slide control as described
previously. Leave the fire on the lowest heat setting.

Replace the fascia. To do this, place the fascia against the fireplace front surface
so that the two retaining plates at the back of the fascia are directly above the two
retaining brackets on the convector box. Keeping the lower part of the fascia clear of
the ceramic fuel effect, lower the fascia making sure that the rear retaining plates
locate fully into the retaining brackets on the convection box (See figure 4). The fascia
bottom is held in place with magnets. These should be located as in figure 4.

Once the fascia is fitted the fire can be operated as normal.
