Do not incline from the place of your work

 

Avoid any abnormal body posture. Make sure your 
posture is safe; keep balance at all times. 

The appliance may only be used for the given purpose of 
use. Any deviation from the purpose of use is considered 
an unauthorised use. The user, not the manufacturer in 
any case, will be liable for any material and personal 
damage caused as a result of an unauthorised use. 

 

Appliance-specific safety instructions 

 
Turn off the engine before any appliance adjustment or 
servicing. 

 

The appliance meets all applicable safety provisions. 
Repairs may only be executed by qualified engineers in 
authorised service centres, using original spare parts for 
that purpose. There is a risk of injury with the above-
mentioned failing to be provided. 

 

It is absolutely necessary to know the safety regulations 
applicable in the place of using the appliance as well as all 
other generally recognised safety regulations. 

 

Check the appliance for any damage. Do not use the 
appliance if defective or damaged. 

 

 Pay attention to what you are doing. Use common 

sense when working.  

 

Appliance to be used in an appropriate environment 

only. Not to be exposed to wet or moisture. 

 

Adequate lighting to be provided for work at all times. 

 

Switch the appliance immediately off in any dangerous 
situation or when facing a technical failure. 

 

 Tools and accessory equipment approved by the 

manufacturer to be used only. Using any not approved 
parts poses a significant risk of injury.  

 

Children and persons lacking the knowledge of and 
experience in handling the appliance or who are limited by 
their physical, sensory and mental skills must not use the 
appliance, unless supervised or managed by a safety 
engineer. 

 

 Children must be watched in order not to play with 

the appliance. 

 

Do not overload your appliance. Work within the 
specified performance range at all times. 

 

Never aim the cutter bar at your body or other persons or 
animals. 
Hold the appliance with one hand on the handle with the

 Shearing knife may injure your hands and fingers 

and cause LIFE-THREATENING cutting injuries!  

 

 Long using of a motor appliance may lead to 

blood circulation disorders as a result of vibrations. 
However, the time of using the appliance may be 
prolonged by wearing appropriate gloves or taking regular 
breaks. Be sure to know that person dispositions to poor 
blood circulation, low outside temperatures and big 
pressure on the appliance when working make the time of 
using the appliance shorter.

 

 

 Never start the appliance in closed or poorly 

ventilated spaces. 

 

Do not use the hedge trimmer near flammable liquids 

and gases. 

 

Perfect shearing knives to be used only, i.e. well 
sharpened and with no cracks, scratches, deformation, etc. 

 

Any defective shearing knives must be replaced 
immediately.

  

 

Do not use any shearing knives not meeting the technical 
specifications of these Operating Instructions. 

 

Make sure the shearing knife is fitted in the right position. 

 

The protective equipment of the appliance must not be 
disassembled in any case or put out of operation in any 
manner. 

 

Any damaged or defective protective equipment must be 
immediately replaced. 

 

After finishing any servicing work or repair, safety or 
protective equipment must be refitted properly. 

 

The sheared material must be necessarily without any 
nails and similar items.  

 

Never try to remove any free splinters, pieces of wood or 
any jammed material from the hedge trimmer when in 
operation.  
 

Use as designated 

 
The hedge trimmer is only appropriate for trimming hedges, 
bushes and ornamental bushes while following all 
technical specifications and safety instructions. 
Any other use is considered a use in conflict with the 
designation. The manufacturer will not be held liable for 
any consequential damages and injuries. Please be sure 
to know that the appliance has not been designed for 
industrial purposes.   

 

Safety instructions for first starting up 
 
Warning!

 The operating safety of the hedge trimmer must be 

checked before putting it into operation. Do not start the 
appliance in case of any doubts!  

 

The following should especially be provided: 

 

Proper fitting of the shearing knife 

 

Light running of all switches 

 

Safe fitting of the socket plug. If the socket plug is loose, 
sparks may be produced and the resulting mixture of fuel 
and air may get ignited. 

 

Make sure the handles are clean so that the hedge 
trimmer could be guided safely.  

 

When trimming wood that has been treated or processed 
before, attention should especially be paid to nails, bolts, etc. 
Remove any undesirable items before working. 

 

Before starting the hedge trimmer, make sure the shearing 
knife is properly fitted and movable parts of the appliance are 
not obstructed. 

 

 Branches of diameter exceeding 14 mm should first 

be cut off by branch shears to prevent the appliance from 
damaging. 

 

Putting the appliance into operation (pic. A+C) 

 

 

Add fuel for 2-stroke to the appropriate opening 

(pic. 

A/2).

 Make sure the liquid is not spilled (ignition risk). 

Unleaded petrol with brand-name oil for air-cooled 2-
stroke engine in the 1:40 ratio should always be filled
