ProStar 335 Photodiode Array Detector

Introduction
The Varian ProStar 335 is a HPLC photodiode array detector that
can simultaneously detect the absorbance of compounds in the
flowcell at wavelengths from 190 to 950 nm. It can be operated
using either the Varian Star or Galaxie Chromatography
Workstation software. This software provides complete spectral
and chromatographic peak processing.
The ProStar 335 detector uses a diffraction grating optical
system for dispersing the light from the flowcell onto the 1024
element array. The diffraction grating optical system has
approximately linear dispersion and resolution at all wavelengths.
The detector has a deuterium (UV) lamp, and a quartz iodide
lamp is available to provide better sensitivity for the visible and
NIR wavelengths.
The ProStar 335 detector is interfaced to the Star or Galaxie
Workstation through Ethernet communications. The ProStar 335
can synchronize with other HPLC modules as well as with other
computer systems via an optional analog output feature.
The ProStar 335 detector can be connected to any solvent
delivery system by standard low volume transfer lines and zero
dead volume compression fittings. The optional sync cable fitted
to the ProStar 335 can interface the diode array to the start
output of any other solvent delivery module or AutoSampler.
Two types of ProStar 335 detector are available: Microbore to
Analytical (non-extended range) and Analytical to Preparative
(extended range).
