k) LED indicators (vertical row of red lights) display which input or
output function is currently activated. The LED indicators located
beside the CONTROL VALUES label are set by the operator,
however the LED indicators beside the OUTPUTS label are
displaying the automatic operation of the specific control module
output.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
2. The first step in the operation of the MSC-10 involves setting the
main set point, which is the Desired Room Temperature (DRT). Verify the
control settings preset at the manufacturer for your configuration (refer to
your configuration document for the table of control settings). Use the control
settings table to enter your own control values if you prefer or use the
manufacturer’s preset control values.
3. All other temperature control values are selected as Relative Set
Points (RSP) which are relative to the DRT. For example,
to set a heating
stage so that it begins to operate within the inside room temperature at five
degrees below the Desired Room Temperature, select the HEATER STAGE
ON parameter with the UP or DOWN arrow button, and then rotate the
ADJUST knob until a reading of
-5.0
is shown in the digital display on the
front panel.
NOTE
The text in italics indicate the reading on the digital display.
4. Heating stages are preset to operate until a two degree temperature
increase occurs before shutting off. Other settings, such as minimum speeds
and bandwidths on variable fan stages, timer functions and the RSP for other
equipment are adjusted the same way until the correct sequence (balance) of
environmental control is achieved in the building.
DOWNLOADING A NEW CONFIGURATION
5.
The procedure to download a new configuration to the MSC-10
computer is as follows (see Figure 3-1):
a) Turn off the power source to the MSC-10 (flip the circuit breaker on
the power distribution panel).
