NOTE: When shaping it is advisable to achieve a trapezoidal shape (Fig. 11). 
This is where the bottom is wider than the top. A trapezoidal cut corresponds 
to the natural growth of plants and results in optimal hedge growth, as it will 
expose more light to the bottom of the hedge. 

9  AFTER USE 

 

Switch the product off, allow the engine to cool down and then remove the spark plug 
connector. 

 

Check, clean and store the product as described below. 

9.1 

The golden rules for care 

WARNING!  Always  switch  the  product  off,  let  the  product  cool  down  and 
disconnect  the  spark  plug  connector  before  performing  inspection, 
maintenance and cleaning work! 

 

Keep the product clean and free from debris after each use and before storage. 

 

Regular and correct cleaning of this product will help ensure safe use and prolong the life 
of the product. 

 

Inspect the product before each use for worn and damaged parts. Do not operate it if any 
parts are broken or show signs of wear. 

 

Ensure  the  air  vents  remain  clear  from  obstruction  at all times. 

WARNING!  Only  perform  repairs  and  maintenance  work  according  to  these 
instructions! All further works must be performed by a qualified specialist! 

9.2 

General cleaning 

 

Clean the product with a dry cloth; use a soft brush for hard to reach areas. 

 

Pay particular attention to the air vents (5) and to the cutting blade. 

 

Remove stubborn dirt with high pressure air (max. 3 bar). 

NOTE:  Do  not  use  chemical,  alkaline,  abrasive  or  other  aggressive 
detergents or disinfectants to clean this product as they might be harmful to 
its surfaces. 

9.2.1 

Care and maintenance 

Check for worn or damaged parts. Replace worn parts as necessary or contact an 
authorized service center before using the product again. 

9.2.2 

Cutting blade 

WARNING! Wear safety gloves when working on the cutting blade and close 
to  it!  Use  appropriate  tools  to  remove  debris  e.g.  a  brush  or  wooden  stick! 
Never use your bare hands! 

 

Keep the cutting blade (1) clean and free of debris. Remove trimmings. 

 

Keep the cutting blade (1) sharp to retain a good cutting performance. Replace a worn or 
damaged cutting blade with a new one of the same type.
