Virtual DIGIPASS
17.5.1
Overview
With
Virtual DIGIPASS
login, the user requests an OTP to be issued to their mobile phone, thus removing the need
for a hardware or software DIGIPASS (see also section
; for information on authentication with a Virtual
DIGIPASS, please see section
Virtual DIGIPASS are assigned as either:
a
Primary Virtual DIGIPASS,
which is always used by a User; the User does not have a hardware or software
DIGIPASS.
a
Backup Virtual DIGIPASS,
which is only used as a backup device when the User's hardware or software
device is unavailable.
17.5.2
Virtual DIGIPASS Assignment Options
With the introduction of Virtual DIGIPASS (see section
), there are several different assignment combinations
that can be used. The first option in the table below does not utilize Virtual DIGIPASS. The others include a Virtual
DIGIPASS in either a backup or primary mode.

used while a User’s DIGIPASS device is lost, until it is recovered.

User is assigned a Virtual DIGIPASS and must log in using it.
17.5.3
Virtual DIGIPASS Configuration
To use a Virtual DIGIPASS, your company will need the use of a text message gateway (Message Delivery
Component: MDC) and an account with the gateway. The MDC will need configuration information for the gateway
and the Username and password for the account. Your VASCO supplier can assist with this process. Further
