5.2
First Time Set-up
Installation of the aXsGUARD Identifier requires temporarily isolating a client workstation from the network and
linking it to the aXsGUARD Identifier, in order to set the aXsGUARD Identifier IP address within the range of the
network. This involves:
1.
Changing a client workstation IP address to within the specified IP address range for the aXsGUARD
Identifier.
2.
Connecting the client workstation to the aXsGUARD Identifier with a cable.
3.
Using a browser on the client workstation to access the aXsGUARD Identifier Configuration Tool. The
aXsGUARD Identifier automatically detects that this is a first-time installation and launches the
Configuration Wizard
. During this Configuration Wizard a new IP address within your network range can
be configured on the aXsGUARD Identifier (see below).
4.
The new IP address provided during the Configuration Wizard is stored on the aXsGUARD Identifier. Both
the original default IP address, and the newly entered IP address can be used at this stage.
5.
The client workstation IP address needs to be changed back to one within the range of the network. The
aXsGUARD Identifier Configuration Tool can now be contacted using the new IP address. The system
administrator can now remove the old IP address, by clicking on the 'removal' option. As an alternative,
rebooting the system automatically removes the old IP address.
The aXsGUARD Identifier is now integrated within your set-up.
