Installation Configurations

Configuration Wizard
The Configuration Wizard is launched when a new aXsGUARD Identifier Configuration Tool is accessed. The
Configuration Wizard must be completed to allow full access to the Configuration Tool, for manual configurations
(see below). The wizard guides the system administrator through a minimal number of settings:
Password change
Network settings: IP address within your network including the net mask, and the default gateway
to access the Internet
Host name, DNS suffix, DNS server
NTP (time) server
If a proxy server is to be used, the IP address, user name and password
General settings, e.g. the time zone. UTC (=Greenwich Mean Time) is offered as the default

Tip
The above major settings are completed during the Configuration Wizard, but additional features
also need to be configured, including:

Manual Configurations
Completing the Configuration Wizard is mandatory before manual changes are possible in the Configuration Tool.
Manual configurations are necessary:
to alter default settings which were not offered during the Configuration Wizard
to alter settings after initial installation (the Configuration Wizard is only offered on a factory default system).
