Auditing
10.1
Overview
There are two separate sources of information generated on the aXsGUARD Identifier from the Convenience Layer
and from the IDENTIKEY component. Information sourced from the Convenience layer supports logging (explained
in section
). Information sourced from the IDENTIKEY component supports reporting and auditing:
Reporting provides standard and customized reports based on the data stored in the aXsGUARD Identifier
configuration and audit databases. Reporting is explained in chapter 22.
Auditing can be managed through the aXsGUARD Identifier Configuration Tool (see section
Administration Interfaces) using the live audit viewer. Auditing happens in real time, allowing administrators to
view a limited number of recent events. In this chapter, we explain auditing.
10.2
Live Audit Viewer
Events generated by the IDENTIKEY component for auditing are stored in the internal database, and can be
consulted using the live audit viewer (see image below). Audit data is cleaned based on availability of storage
space.
