the PC, as well as the configuration of the PC interface need to be examined. See
also the troubleshooting guide in section 7.1.2 on page 81.
Interface parameters can be configured via the ‘Interface Settings’ window of the sys-
tem menu (click on the symbol in the upper left corner). It is important to choose the
correct COM-port.
The main NCTerm window is structured into three areas: The upper part is used for
connection establishment and tear-down. The large middle section symbolically de-
picts the local and the remote unit. By clicking on the unit symbols when active, dialog
windows will appear which allow configuration parameters to be changed or checked.
Below the units the status of the alarm input(s) and the relay output(s) is depicted. The
display will automatically adapt to the capabilities of the respective connected unit.

Call Control Using NCTerm
Before attempting to establish a connection, at least one transmission network has to
be available, as indicated by one of the larger LED’s labelled ’ISDN’ and ’Modem’.
Color coding for the I’SDN’ indicator is as shown in the table below:
