in the previous section, short input pulses can be prolonged by monostable operation
of the respective output. Certain sensors, e.g. infrared motion detector, may generate
a short output peak or a train of peaks. Sometimes such a sensor is not only used to
trigger an alarm but should also generate an acoustic warning at the monitoring re-
ceiver station. By setting the output to monostable operation, the output will stay in
the alerted state for the programmed time, regardless of the duration of the sensor
signal at the other end.

Camera Configuration
The ‘Camera’ configuration dialog selects certain on-screen display options as well
as assigning names to the different cameras. More settings include the definition of a
default camera for NetCam6 and video standard selections.
6.7.1
On-Screen Display
In order to aid the user in the identification of the connected NetCam unit as well as
the selected camera (only when connected to a NetCam6 unit), both, unit and camera
names can be inserted into the live video. The unit name is separated from the cam-
era name by a colon. See section 6.9.5 on page 67 for configuration of the unit name.
Names are stamped into the left half of the video screen, either at the upper or lower
end of the picture. Date and time information, stemming from the battery-backed in-
ternal clock, is displayed at the upper right or lower right hand side of the screen.
On-screen displays are inserted into the video image before the video coding process
takes place. This way, all inserted display items are integral part of the coded video
data stream, making the on-screen display tamper-proof.
6.7.2
Camera Name Setting

each camera can be named. The names are entered directly into the edit box(es) and
are stored in nonvolatile memory. Programmed names are also used for labelling the
camera buttons on the ’Video/Audio’ dialog panel.
6.7.3
