Troubleshooting
If you cannot correct a malfunction, please contact your supplier, system
integrator or VCS customer service (support@vcs.com).
The version numbers of the internal processors can be viewed on a special page.
Please note this information before contacting Customer Service.
– In the address field of the browser, append
/version.htm
to the IP address
of the unit (e.g.
192.168.0.12/version.htm
) and press Enter.
– Write down the information or print out the page.
The following table is intended to help you identify the causes of malfunctions and
correct them where possible.
Problem
Possible Causes
Solution
No connection
between the unit and
terminal program.
Faulty cable connections.
Check all cables, plugs, contacts
and connections.
The computer's serial
interface is not connected.
Check the other serial interfaces.
Interface parameters do not
match.
Select a different COM port if
necessary and make sure that the
computer's interface parameters
match those of the unit. You can also
try the following standard
parameters: 19,200 baud, 8 data
bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. After that,
switch off the power to the unit and
switch it on again after a couple of
seconds.
No image
transmission from
the target location.
Defective camera.
Connect a local monitor and check
the camera function.
Faulty cable connections.
Check all cables, plugs, contacts
and connections.
