SMS (Short Message Service)
The remote control and the LCD display make it easier to read and write short text mes-
sages (SMS; length up to 160 characters).

The availability of the Receive / Send function of text messages depends on the network
operator; enabling may be necessary. Refer to the network operator’s details.

Images, sounds or multi-media messages as well as excessively long SMS texts are not
supported.
SMS service centre
The phone number for the SMS service centre must be set via the mobile phone settings.
Writing and sending SMS messages
1. In the Start display, select the symbol
.
The "Messages" menu appears.

The menu can also be called up from the main menu by selecting the option
"Messages".
2. Select the option "Write message".
The following display appears:
Text can now be entered via the remote control with the aid of the keyboard displayed.
The text then appears in the first line of the screen.
The number of characters that can still be entered is shown at the top right (in the
illustration: 160).
When the symbol
is selected, the screen is changed to other available characters
(1. upper case letters, 2. lower case letters, 3. special symbols).
If an incorrect entry is made, it is possible to delete the last character by selecting the
symbol
. In Write mode, by pressing the
+
button it is possible to enter a space. By
pressing the
-
button it is possible to delete the preceding character.
3. To send the SMS message, select the symbol
(Send SMS).
4. Enter the required call number in the following display "Message send".

The desired call number can be selected from the phone book.
5. Select the
symbol again.

To use this function, the mobile phone must be prepared for sending short messages.
