General information
Mobile phones
The hands free system is only suitable for use with mobile phones specified on the phone
cradle or phone cradle packaging.
A
Before inserting a mobile phone, remove the protective cap for the antenna connection
at the phone and if necessary the protective sleeve.
A
Do not attempt to insert other mobile phones into the holder. This can cause serious
damage to the hands-free unit and to the mobile phone.
1
For operation with the hands-free unit, a volume default setting should be performed
on the mobile phone (vehicle default setting).
Special features with Siemens C/M/S 35, C/ME/S 45 and SL 42/45 mobile phones:
• The mobile phone does not switch off automatically when the ignition is switched off,
but only approx. 15 minutes later or approx. 15 minutes following the last operation
of the hands-free unit.
• When all tones are switched off on the mobile phone, the ringing tones are also
switched off in the hands-free unit (does not apply to C/ME/S 45).
• If the phone has switched itself off automatically in the holder, it may have to be
switched back on manually.
• The mobile phone is not recharged when switched off.
• If the mobile phone is removed from the holder while it is ringing, the call is accepted
automatically.
• When connecting the hands-free unit to the MC 5400 (C/M/S 35 and SL 42/45 only):
The mobile phone is not recharged via the hands-free unit in GSM/modem mode (e.g.
when sending/receiving faxes).
Special features with Nokia 6210/6310/7110mobile phones:
• Nokia 7110 only: Operation of the mobile phone with the hands-free unit is only pos-
sible from software version 4.88. This version can be called up via control code *#0000#,
if required. Please contact your Nokia dealer if a software update is required.
• If the system no longer reacts when the relevant buttons on the remote control or on
the mobile phone itself are pressed, communication between the mobile phone and
the hands-free unit has been interrupted. Switch the telephone off and back on again
(if possible) or briefly remove the battery from the mobile phone and then re-install.
Then switch on the telephone again.
• Mobile phone displays concerning new SMS messages or a "Missed call" are not delet-
ed after reading out the SMS or after calling up the "Missed call" register.
• Nokia 7110 only: Adjusting the volume is only possible when no numbers or characters
have been entered in the mobile phone (e.g. when listening to the mail box).
• If numbers have been entered into the mobile phone (control codes/DTMF numbers,
e.g., when using the mailbox) or are visible on the display, these are selected as a new
call number when the
symbol (alternate) is activated. Delete numbers beforehand
or end existing call, if necessary.
• Nokia 6310 only: Only supported as of mobile phone software version 4.20.
The volume control, alternate and automatic switch on/off functions are not support-
ed.
