Working with the VDO SmartTerminal

DHCP
Option to use a DHCP Server
By activating, the DHCP option, all other settings are
searched automatically.
Deactivate this option if you wish to manually configure
your network setting. In this case, you must fill in the fields
below.
IP address
Possibility to enter a free IP address for the VDO
SmartTerminal from your network
Broadcast address Address to which the VDO SmartTerminal sends broad-
casts
The VDO SmartTerminal sends these messages in order
to display that it is in the network. Hence, it can be detec-
ted by the VDO TerminalService.
Subnet mask
Possibility to enter the subnet mask suitable for the IP ad-
dress
This is usually 255.255.255.000 in a class C network.
Default gateway
Possibility to enter your router's address
This creates internet access for the VDO SmartTerminal. If
you do not wish to specify a router, please enter
000.000.000.000.
Nameserver
Possibility to enter the DNS server
The Nameserver is required to enable the VDO SmartTer-
minal to cancel names. This is required, for example, if
you wish to use an NTP server and the name of the NTP
server was entered instead of an IP address. It is also re-
quired for other services in the VDO SmartTerminal which
are to communicate with your network.

WiFi
Option to activate/deactivate the WLAN function
WIFI SSID
Possibility to enter the name of your WLAN network
This is required to establish a connection with the WLAN
router. If you do not operate a public access point, you will
need a password to establish a connection.
