(Specifically for LAN/WAN Ethernet testing)
The MPA unit has the capability to run a timed test (a test with Ethernet streams
enabled for a certain time period) specifying user-defined acceptance criteria for
Pass/Fail results.
To Set Up the Test
1. Set up the port on which the test will be initiated. This includes the ports
Interface, stream parameters, etc.. A test can be performed on a single port or
port-to-port basis.
2. Enable the stream(s) to be used for the test.
3. Under the
Results
>
Strm Rslt
criteria options. These include
Acceptable Sequence Error
rate,
Acceptable
Bit Error
rate, and
Acceptable Loss Rate
. These values are set up on a per-
stream basis.
4. Under the
Test
tab, select the desired
Duration
for the test.
If the "
Continuous
" duration is used, the test will continue to operate until the
Stop
button is pressed.
5.
Restart
the port that will be used for the timed test using the
Restart
button at
the bottom of the screen.
6. When the time duration of the test is reached, the streams will automatically stop
counting received packets and the Pass/Fail acceptance results are displayed
under the
Results
>
Strm Rslt
tab.
