The message
No Errors or Alarms
appears if no events are received by the system.
This function provides a quick summary of incoming errors and alarms. It is effective in
identifying a general area to investigate when error or alarm activity is detected.
Results - ERR (Errors) Screen
(Specifically for Fibre Channel SAN testing on the Packet tab)
The Err screen reports error statistics on the incoming signal.
The following error types can be monitored:
Error Type
Description
Code
A Code error or Symbol error is detected in the line encoding
Oversized
A frame whose length is > 2144 bytes
Undersized
A frame whose length is < 28 bytes, with good FCS/CRC
checksum
Invalid CRC
An error in the Frame Check Sequence (CRC checksum),
and whose Frame length is ≥ 28 bytes
Alignment Error
An error in the frame's word alignment
EOFA
An error in the frame's EOFa (End Of Frame - Abort) primitive
EOF Error
A frame received that is missing an EOF (End Of Frame)
Disparity
An error in the frame's Ordered Set Disparity
1G to 8G Fibre Channel rates only
