Rate
Sets the traffic generation rate for the selected Stream.
Rates can be configured as:
•
Constant %Bandwidth
(0.01 to 100%)
•
Constant Mbit/sec
(0.1 to max Mb/s, for the selected
Interface)
•
Constant IPG-Byte
•
Constant IPG-MS
•
Ramp %Bandwidth
•
Ramp Mbit/sec
Constant IPG rates control the bandwidth by configuring the
size of the InterPacket Gap between packets, in either Bytes or
Milliseconds.
Burst Size
Configures the number of packets to be inserted in each Burst.
This setting applies to both the traffic generation rates, and the
The Send Burst button will generate a single burst of packets,
for the specified amount of packets.
The default Burst size is 1 frame, and should be set to 1
frame when not intentionally generating bursty traffic, to allow
the inner-packet gaps (IPG's) to be evenly distributed.
Any value greater than 1 will result in the packets being
generated as bursts of packet, with minimal IPG's between the
packets within the burst, and longer than normal IPG's between
the bursts.
