MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

This section of the manual provides information on servicing and maintaining the Veigel Hand Control.

The hand control must be kept in top operating condition.  Regular checkups are needed, and the

vehicle must be brought to a qualified service professional if any abnormalities are noticed during

diving.

WARNING:

All maintenance and repair work

must

be done by properly trained personnel only.

Servicing is required if any part of the hand control apparatus has been damaged

in any way or does not operate normally.  Any malfunctions must be remedied

immediately by qualified personnel.

Failure to follow these maintenance and

repair instructions could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle

resulting in a serious injury or death.

INSTRUCTION FOR NON-PHYSICALLY IMPAIRED DRIVERS

Veigel recommends that the vehicle be driven only by a physically impaired persons.  The hand control should

be removed or disengaged when a non-physically impaired person is driving.

Non-physically impaired persons could drive by using the pedals, but:

• In order to minimize any risk, we recommend the vehicle not to be used by a non-physically impaired

persons on a regular basis.

• Exceptions could be, among other things, test drives with in the scope of servicing the vehicle or hand

control or the temporary indisposition of the handicapped person.

Remove the mandatory pedal guard to gain access to the accelerator and brake pedals.

IMPORTANT:

Do not drive the vehicle using the hand control unless you have read this entire manual,

have practiced using the controls, and are fully capable of driving safely with the controls.

If you want to drive with the hand control turned down, make sure that the accelerator handle is turned into

a position in which the accelerator is not activated unintentionally and the handle brake is not constrained.

If the hand control has been turned down, make sure the accelerator and brake are easily movable.

PLACING THE HAND CONTROL BACK IN POSITION

In order to get the hand control back in

operating position, rotate locking pin to

point upwards and push control forward to

engage locking pin.  See Figure 5.
