SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Do Not Drive the Vehicle with out Proper Instruction and Training
WARNING:
You must understand and follow the following safety precautions whenever
your vehicle is driven by you or others. Failure to follow these instructions
could result in serious injury or death.
• Your vehicle has now been equipped with a hand control system for use by the physically impaired
and is not intended for those untrained in its operation. Veigel hand controls are to be used strictly
by those in need of a hand control.
• Use of the Veigel hand controls by those who can adequately use the foot pedals is
not authorized
.
Most states and providence's require restrictions on driver licenses to operate hand controls.
• If you do not have a valid driver’s license for operating hand controls, you should immediately
attend a driver training school.
Do Not Allow Unauthorized Drivers
• Only persons who are familiar with and depend on this hand control may drive the vehicle using
the hand control.
• Drivers who depend on the brake lock function of the hand control are allowed to drive using the
hand control.
• Drivers who are able to drive regularly are not allowed to use the brake locking device.
Prevent Accidental Control Movement
• When driving the vehicle using the hand control it is recommended that you install a pedal guard
to prevent the gas and brake pedals from being accidentally applied. Ask your mobility dealer
about Veigel Pedal Guards, sold separately.
• To avoid inadvertent braking or acceleration, be sure to keep passengers, pets, cargo, and other
objects from coming in contact with the hand control when vehicle is in use.
• To avoid inadvertent braking or acceleration, be sure to avoid entanglement of feet or clothing
with the gas and brake rods/tubes.
