6.5. Checking for electrical isolation
The checks are always to be made on all three poles!
Compliance with DIN VDE 0105- 100 is mandatory!
The test is performed using the following procedure:
1.
With the circuit-breaker switched on and voltage
present, there must be a corresponding display on the
capacitive voltage testing system.
Details can be found in the operating instructions of
the capacitive voltage testing system used.
2.
Switch off circuit-breaker [OFF (O)].
3.
Switch off disconnector [OFF (O)].
4.
Isolate also the second cable end.
5.
The display of the capacitive voltage testing system
must go out.
Details can be found in the operating instructions of
the capacitive voltage testing system used.
6.
Switch on earthing switch [ON (I)].
7.
The outgoing cable is now electrically isolated.
6.6. Cable test
The cable measurement is performed on appropriately
equipped cable accessories using the following procedure:
• With the circuit-breaker switched on and voltage
present, there must be a corresponding display on the
capacitive voltage testing system. Details can be found
in the operating instructions of the capacitive voltage
testing system used.
• Switch off circuit-breaker [OFF (O)].
• Switch off disconnector [OFF (O)].
• Safely disconnect and earth the second cable end.
• The display of the capacitive voltage testing system
must go out.
• Details can be found in the operating instructions of the
capacitive voltage testing system used.
• Switch on earthing switch [ON (I)].
• Remove the front cover.
• Unscrew the threaded insert from the male cable
adapter.
• Screw the test adapter onto the setscrew of the male
cable adapter (observe the tightening torque).
• Switch off earthing switch [OFF (O)].
Danger to life due to electric current!
Short-circuit the capacitive interfaces against earth
before a test voltage > nominal voltage UN is applied!
The cable measurement must be performed with a
maximum test voltage according to Table 8.10 (see
chapter 8.10).
The busbars may conduct an operating voltage of
maximum 24 kV!
• Perform measurement/test.

Figure 6.31.
After completion of the cable measurement and switching
off the test voltage:
• Switch on earthing switch [ON (I)].
• Unscrew the testing adapter.
• Screw the threaded insert into the male cable adapter
(observe the tightening torque).
• Insert the front cover.
The circuit-breaker panel can be activated.
