that, as the occasion arises, the preliminary filter scale and impeller should be
cleaned before putting the pump into use again (see also below).
Thermal security device
To prevent overheating and consequently damage to the motor, Green Line Pumps
have a built-in thermal security device. Remember, if the motor is deactivated by
overheating you should check the following points before starting the pump again.
Stop any activities on the pump.
Always switch off the power voltage by pulling the plug out of the receptacle.
l
Is the pump sufficiently immersed in the water?
l
Is the preliminary filter scale polluted, as a result of which the water supply to the
pump stagnates?
l
Is the impeller or hose socket polluted?
l
Has the pump cooled down sufficiently before restarting it?
As soon as these points have been found to be in order, the pump can be restarted.
Impeller (see illustration)
Not only to remove trouble, but also to be sure of a satisfactory water yield, the
impeller should be cleaned regularly. To this end you should proceed as follows:
l
Deactivate the power voltage and remove the pump from the pond.
l
Open the preliminary filter scale by opening the green clamps.
l
Remove the large and small bracket by removing the screws.
l
Loosen the swivel of the pump outlet and remove the pump from the filter scale.
l
Open the motor case by removing the 4 screws.
l
Carefully remove the impeller from the motor case.
l
Clean all parts under freely running water, using a soft brush.
l
Assemble all parts in reverse order. Take care that the impeller will run smoothly
again in the motor housing and that the rubber rings are mounted in the right way.
USE IN WINTER
If the outside temperature does not go down below -5°C for a longer period of time
and the pump is sufficiently immersed in water, a Green Line pond pump can also be
normally used in winter. In severe winters with temperatures lower than -5°C it is to be
recommended to remove the pump from the pond. Properly clean both the pump
and the pre-liminary filter scale. Inspect the pump and the flex for any damage. To
prevent the rubbers from drying out, it is to be recommended to store the pump wet,
for example in a bucket of water.
CAPACITY
The required pump capacity depends on the type of pond and the filter system.
