5.1
Assembly
Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or battery pack from the
power tool before making any assembly, making adjustment, or changing
accessories.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power
tool accidentally.

1.
To loosen, press the shaft lock button and rotate the shaft by hand until the lock
engages the shaft preventing further rotation.
Caution! Do not press the shaft lock button while the power tool is running.
2.
With the shaft lock engaged, use the collet wrench to loosen the collet nut if
necessary. The collet nut must be loosely threaded on when inserting an
accessory.
3.
Change accessories by inserting the new one into the collet as far as possible to
minimize runout and unbalance.
4.
With the shaft lock engaged, finger tighten the collet nut until the accessory shank
is gripped by the collet.
Avoid excessive tightening of the collet nut when
there is no accessory inserted.
It is important that the inserted accessory be in good balance. To balance an
accessory, slightly loosen the collet nut and give the accessory a ¼ turn. Retighten
the collet nut and run the power tool. Continue adjusting until the best balance is
achieved.

Holding Your Power Tool
For best control in close work, hold your power tool like a pencil between your thumb
and forefinger. Holding the power tool in your palm is useful for more aggressive
operations such as grinding a flat surface or using cut-off wheels.
