Safety Instructions
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Do not use near inflammable products or in explosive atmospheres. Heat can cause fire to
inflammable products even when they are not in sight. Only use in properly ventilated rooms.
Do not touch the shaft or soldering tip as this can cause serious burns. Always return the
soldering iron to its stand between uses; always let it cool down after use and before storage.
Incorrect use may cause fire.
Always disconnect the mains power when the device is not in use or when maintenance activities
are performed. Handle the power cord by the plug only. Do not crimp the power cord(s) and
protect against damage. Have an authorized dealer replace it if necessary.
Do not inhale solder fumes. The vapors that are released during soldering are harmful.
Therefore, you shall only use the soldering station in well-ventilated areas or under an
exhaust hood (solder fume extractor). Dispose of solder residue in accordance with local
regulations.
Never use the device on live electronic circuits. Make sure power to the work piece is cut and
capacitors are discharged.
Warning: this tool must be placed on its stand when not in use; do not leave the tool
unattended when switched on.
The soldering station is to be used only for soldering/unsoldering electric and electronic components
in printed circuit boards and modules, for tinning PCB tracks and cable ends and for repairing cable
connections.
The soldering station may definitely not be used for heating liquids and synthetic materials
(formation of toxic vapors, fire hazard!).
A defective soldering station (visible damage, no function, prolonged storage in bad conditions,
improper shipping) shall not be used and shall be guarded against further use. The device shall only
be repaired by qualified personnel.
The soldering station shall only be used with an alternating current of 110 Vac.
Do not leave the soldering station at high temperatures for too long. Shut it off when you do not
intend on using it for a longer period.
Never cool down the soldering station by submerging it in water.
Do not expose the soldering station and soldering iron to large mechanical loads.
Because the soldering station heats up during use, it is of paramount importance that you use it only
on a stable, solid and fireproof surface. Never block or cover up the ventilation slots.
