When this adjustment is fully used the cables must be re-clamped at the V-brake assembly itself on
the wheel. The following two sections describe how to do this.
8.1.1 To adjust and rebalance the front brakes
The brakes can be tightened individually if one is just slightly out or better still start from scratch and
set both brakes.
Wind the adjustment wheel on the brake lever in so that it shows about 2mm of adjustment.

With an Allen key slacken the brake cable clamp on one of the front brakes and using your
hands or pliers pull it tight whilst clamping the brake pads tightly against the wheel rim with
your other hand – you can use a G-clamp to clamp the brakes to the wheel rim to make this
easier.

Tighten up the brake cable clamp noting that it will pull the cable slightly as you tighten it.

Repeat this process on the other front wheel.
