3.1 Connection to a Vertex VTF type
Fasten the threaded support rod (supplied with the instrument) into its seat on the
back of the instrument and position thermoregulator VTF on the support rod
making sure that the temperature probe is immerged in the sample.
Connect the two instruments (AREC.X and VTF) by means of the socket on the
back of the AREC.X.
Select the operating temperature required on the thermoregulator VTF.
Select the maximum temperature (540°C) using the “Heating” knob on the front
panel of the AREC.X.
N.B.:
When the thermoregulator VTF is connected to the AREC.X the AREC.X
display does not give temperature readings but a dashed line (- - - ) which
indicates that the thermoregulator VTF is connected; the operating temperature is
shown on the thermoregulator VTF display.
The heating magnetic stirrer always makes a preliminary check of the heating
plate temperature. To heat the plate using the VTF thermoregulator select the max
temperature (540°C) on the AREC.X.
The temperature control function of the heating plate can also be used as a safety
thermostat. In this case the maximum temperature of the heating plate does not
exceed the temperature setting on the AREC.X meaning that a longer heating time
is required in order to reach the thermoregulator VTF temperature setting
.
4. End of work cycle
At the end of the work cycle turn off the stirring and heating knobs.
5. Maintenance
No routine or extraordinary maintenance is necessary apart from periodically
cleaning the unit as described in this manual (chap.5.1).
In compliance with the product guarantee law, repairs to our units must be carried
out in our factory, unless previously agreed otherwise with local distributors.
Should the fuse need changing, disconnect the unit from the power supply and
open the cover on the back of the unit to access the two fuses 5A (230V) or 8A
(115V).
5.1 Cleaning
Disconnect the unit from the power supply and use a cloth dampened with non-
inflammable and non-aggressive detergent to clean the unit.
