The ventilator should be
located in the center of
the roof (between the two
ends of the house) and
about 8" down from the
ridgeline. The ventilator
should be visible from
one side of the roof only.
Use the nailing pattern at
right for greatest stability.
FIGURE 3: FINISHED INSTALLATION
The bottom part of the flange
is left exposed. For extra
protection, apply a thin bead
of caulking around the
bottom of the flange.
(For installations in existing
construction, picture at right
will show nails driven through
shingles. Apply a small
amount of roof cement over
nails.)
