If TPSM card(s) is installed, a DSPK-R1 card can replace a DSPK card as an active or redundant
card.

If TPSM-R1 card(s) is installed, a DSPK card can replace a DSPK-R1 card as an active card.

If TPSM-R1 card(s) is installed, a DSPK card can replace a DSPK-R1 card as a redundant card
only if all DSP-type active cards are DSPK cards.

When TPSM is installed, each DSPK and each DSPK-R1 (i.e. 100BaseT) handles up to 1,248
channels.
•
When TPSM-R1 is installed, each DSPK-R1 handles up to 1,440 channels and each DSPK handles
up to 1,248 channels.
•
If DSPK replaces a DSPK-R1, the additional TDM channels must be removed in the configuration
map before the replacement; otherwise a map validation error will be generated.
The cards can be configured in several ways. Examples are given below of the card
layouts for E1/DS1, DS3, and STM-1/OC-3 interface configurations.
