GENERAL NOTES
The SQUOD SU electric wheelchair is equipped with two 200 watt motors. It has been designed for
mixed usage, both inside and outside, and its standing/upright function makes it ideal for use on
indoor, level flooring.
When using your electric wheelchair on footpaths, you should comply with any applicable laws. It may
not be used on the public highway. Since the SQUOD SU has a top speed of six km/h, you do not
require a driving licence and neither is vehicle insurance necessary. However, we recommend that
you take out voluntary third-party insurance. Kindly contact your insurer.
The electronics must be switched off immediately after use of the wheelchair. To charge the batteries,
you should only use the battery charger supplied.
We wish to point out that electromagnetic sources (e.g. mobile phones, etc.) can cause interference
and that the wheelchair's electronics can also affect other electric appliances.
Even if you have been instructed by your dealer about the operational elements of your electric
wheelchair and their use, we recommend that you read the following pages carefully.
APPLICABILITY
The equipment and accessories enable usage in cases where walking is impossible due to
•
Paralysis
•
Loss of limbs (leg amputation)
•
Limb defects / deformation
•
Stiff or damaged joints
•
Heart problems, poor circulation, balance disorders or cachexia, and old age.
When considering individual requirements
•
body size and weight
•
physical and psychological condition
•
domestic and environmental conditions
should also be taken into consideration.
Your wheelchair should only be used when all four wheels are in contact with the surface. Specific
training should be provided to cope with uneven surfaces (cobblestones, etc.), gradients and bends
(swerving sideways, etc.). A particular risk is involved when crossing surfaces such as ice, grass,
rubble, foliage, etc. The wheelchair should not be used as a seat in a motor vehicle.
The standing/upright function should only be used indoors for therapeutic purposes and in the
presence of a second person. The reduced mobility properties then only serve to straighten the
product. The drive mode should not be used, either indoors or out, if the standing or upright function is
selected. Obstacles cannot be surmounted if the standing/upright function is selected. If you
nonetheless select drive mode when the standing/upright function is selected, it is at your own risk.
Guarantees can only be honoured when the product is used under the specified conditions and
for the intended purposes.
