Cutoff modulation
Available sources to modulate the cutoff frequency are envelope generator EG 1, the LFO and
VCO 1’s sine waveform.

Additional possibilities to modulate the cutoff frequency using the modulation
wheel and the aftertouch are described in chapter "Filter modulation VCF MOD"
on page 62.
EG 1 INT
sets the filter’s cutoff modulation by envelope generator EG 1. The control has a center dent
where no modulation is carried out. By turning the control left from center, the cutoff frequency is
modulated downwards (negative modulation), turning right results in upwards modulation (positive
modulation).
LFO INT
adjusts the modulation intensity by the LFO.
Drastic effects can be created by modulating the cutoff frequency by the sine waveform of VCO 1.
The intensity of the frequency modulation (short: FM) can be manually set and dynamically altered
by envelope generator EG 1.
VCO 1

manually sets the FM-intensity. The corresponding
EG 1 INT
control sets the amount
of FM-intensity controlled by envelope generator EG 1. This control latches in the center position.
Here, EG 1 does not modulate the FM-intensity. By turning this control left from center, the FM

is decreased. Turning it to the right increases FM.

being set to zero (fully to the left), decreasing the FM-intensity
through EG 1 will have no effect.
Besides the pitch of VCO 1 and the cutoff frequency, the settings for
RESONANCE

TRACKING
have a big impact on the FM result.
