FINAL INSTALLATION
ROCK WOOL PLACEMENT
1. Your fi replace is supplied with three (3) 8-gram bags
of rock wool embers: Use one (1) 8 gram bag or rock
wool for propane/LP models and up to three (3) bags
of rock wool for natural gas models depending on the
size of your fi replace.
2. For best results in fl ame appearance and operation, pull
the rock wool apart into dime-sized pieces or smaller.
Cover the entire ported surface of the burner with one
thin layer of rock wool.

3. Place the logs on the burner. Refer to the “Log Place-
ment Section.” Light the unit and after 15 minutes check
burner fl ame and glow. Adjust embers as necessary to
achieve an even and clean fl ame.

INSTALLING BRICK LINER KIT
NOTE:
Brick liner kits are approved for use with optional
log kit.
WARNING:
Before installing fi rebrick, turn off fi replace
and allow to cool.
Kit contents:
• One (1) Right panel
• One (1) Left panel
• One (1) Rear panel
• Two (2) Self-drilling #8 screws
• Two (2), Back retainer brackets
1. Remove safety barrier and glass door frame per in-
structions on page 41 and log set (if applicable) .
2. Remove the top heat shield.
3. Install the center fi rebrick panel on the back wall fi rst.
Stand fi rebrick panel straight up against the back of
fi replace with the bottom edge at bottom of inner fi rebox.
4. Repeat Step 3 with the left and right side fi rebrick pan-
els. Secure the top of each side fi rebrick panel to the
fi replace with one retainer bracket and one screw.
5. Use a screw gun to drive in the self-drilling screw into
the sheet metal through the hole in the retainer bracket.
6. Re-install top heat shield.
7. Re-install glass door frame and log set.
Read these instructions carefully be-
fore beginning to install the fi rebrick
walls. Please check your fi replace size
and model number to verify the correct
kit part number.

Turn off, unplug, and allow the fi replace
to cool before installing the fi rebrick
panels. Only a qualifi ed service person
should service and repair the fi replace.
A qualifi ed service person must con-
nect and disconnect the fi replace to the
gas supply. Follow all local codes.
Always handle the fi rebrick panels with
two hands. Do not force the fi rebrick
panels into place. Excessive force will
break the fi rebrick panels. Always wash
hands after handling the panels.
NOTE
Some fi replace systems may require removal
of a screen panel, glass front, log assembly or
engine assembly before you can install the fi re-
brick kit. Please refer to the homeowner's man-
ual for further instruction.
