W hen the battery has sm all current discharge for a long tim e, the battery is over discharged and even has
unrecoverable dam age, thus setting a battery discharg e tim e to protect the battery is essential. T he lim it of
tim e setting shall be configured by service engineer throug h the V ertiv setting softw are.
9 . M axim um boost charge protection tim e
T o protect against the battery overcharge dam age caused by long tim e boost charge, a protect tim e
setting is essential. T he lim it of tim e setting shall be config ured by service engineer throug h the V ertiv
setting softw are.

A d van ced Function
T he U P S provides battery m aintenance test function. A t periodic intervals, 20 % of the rated capacity of the
battery w ill be discharged autom atically, and the actual three-phase load m ust exceed 20 % of the nom inal
U P S capacity. If the load is less than 20 % , the autom atic discharge cannot be executed. T he periodic
interval can be set from 30 to 360 days. T he battery m aintenance test function can be disabled throug h the
V ertiv setting softw are.
C o n d itio n s : Battery at float charge for at least 5h, load equal to 20 % ~ 10 0 % of rated U P S capacity.
T rig g e r: A utom atically, or m anually throug h the com m and of battery m aintenance test in LC D .
In te rv a l: 30 ~ 36 0 days (default setting : 60 days).
T he U P S also provides battery capacity self-test function: P eriodically test the battery activity, test the
battery residual capacity, judge the battery quality, and then provide corresponding m easures. T he
capacity self-test is started by the user throug h the operator control and display panel. D uring the capacity
self-test, the battery w ill continuously discharge to the battery undervoltage shutdow n threshold. A fter the
self-test is finished, the system w ill update the battery curve table. T he capacity self-test com m and is valid
only one tim e, w ithout any m em ory. D uring the capacity self-test, if the battery m aintenance requirem ent is
satisfied, the system w ill g enerate audible/visual alarm and give corresponding records.
C o n d itio n s : System load rate w ithin 20 % ~ 10 0 % , battery float charg e at least 5h, and generator not
connected; the current system is in float charge state.
T rig g e r: Start up throug h the LC D .
N o te :
1. T he battery w ill continuously discharg e to the battery undervoltag e shutdow n threshold, then the battery
transfer to the charg ing state. W hen the capacity self-test is finished, the system w ill update the battery
curve table.
2. T he user can m anually stop the capacity self-test operation throug h the LC D .
3. T he battery capacity self-test needs to g uarantee the discharge tim e not less than 6 m in, otherw ise the
battery self-learning tim e m ay be insufficient and the battery curve w ill not be updated.
