Electrical Installation & Connections
APM 400/600
External Battery
A Battery Circuit Breaker (BCB) must be installed in order to protect the external battery. If the BCB is not
supplied with the UPS, the installer must provide and install a correctly rated DC breaker to provide over-current
and short circuit protection for the installed batteries. In addition, the breaker must also feature trip functions
that are compatible with the UPS. This specific BCB is important for correct battery maintenance and must be
installed close to the battery.
System Output
The UPS output distribution line must be fitted with a protection device. This device must differ from that
installed on the input distribution line, and be capable of providing overload protection (Refer to the Appendix
section for the Electrical Specifications of the Intermediate DC Circuit and Inverter Output).
Note
In the case of IT networks, the UPS external input power distribution line must be fitted with a 4-pole protective
device.

Terminal Connections and Cable Routing Method`
Figure 4-2 illustrates the UPS power cable connection terminals. Figure 4-3 and 4-4 illustrate the power cable
entry and routing methods. Refer to the cabling methods when routing cables and then connect them to their
respective terminals, as shown in Figure 4-2.
