•
Once the battery cables have been connected, install an insulating shield to protect the terminals.
•
When connecting the BCB to the battery terminals, remember that the cables must be connected to the BCB
terminals first.
•
The bending radius of the cable must be greater than 10D; (where D correspond to the outer diameter of the
cable).
•
Once the battery cables have been connected, make sure that no force is applied to the cables and cable
terminals in any way.
•
Refrain from crossing the battery cables during the connection. Do not bind the battery cables together.

Battery room design
Irrespective of the installation type, the points listed below must be taken into account when designing the
battery room.
Figure 7-5 illustrates the design of the battery room:

Layout of the cells
Irrespective of the battery installation type, ensure that the batteries are arranged that no two naked live parts
with a total potential difference exceeding 150V can come into contact with each other. If this is unavoidable, use
an insulating terminal shield and insulated cables for the connections.
Work Bench
The workbench (or platform) must be skid-proof and insulated, and must be at least 1 m wide.
Wiring
All the wiring distances must be kept as short as possible.
BCB
The BCB is generally installed in the wall-mounted box near the battery.
