Introduction to the Optional components
This section provides an explanation of the various optional parts and components, and instructions on how to
install them.
9.1.1
Battery Temperature Sensor kit
The battery temperature sensor kit is used to measure the temperature of the battery. The battery temperature
sensor is connected to the integral logic circuit of the UPS.
When using this sensor, the nominal float voltage supplied to the battery is regulated since it is inversely
proportional to the ambient temperature of the cabinet or battery room. This prevents the battery from being
over-charged at a high ambient temperature.
Preparation
•
Prepare the installation tools, including a cross-head screwdriver.
•
Confirm if all the installation materials are present and complete, including a battery temperature sensor.
Warning
•
Connect all the cables, adhering strictly to the official instructions and standards. Failure to do so may result
in damage to the UPS and battery.
•
Shut down the UPS when the battery temperature sensor is being installed. During the installation
procedure, do not touch the battery terminals, bare copper bars, and components.
•
Shut down the UPS completely, de-energizing the load first. Once all the LEDs are de-energized, wait for a
period of 5-7 minutes for the UPS internal DC bus capacitors of the UPS to discharge completely.
•
Connect one end of the connection cable to either port of the battery temperature sensor and the other end
to the corresponding port J22.
•
Route and secure the cables in order. The cables must be routed separately from the power cables in order
to avoid generating EMI.
9.1.2
Bypass Load Sharing Inductor Kit
Install the bypass load sharing inductors in the case of parallel systems consisting of two or more UPS modules,
to ensure bypass output load sharing for the parallel system. The bypass load sharing inductor is used to
compensate the impedance differences between the SCR and cable. See Table 8-2 for the specifications.
