4. Remove the ring from the lampholder.
Place the hole in the centre of the lampshade
over the lampholder and replace the ring
(Fig 4).

3. Unfold the arm assembly.
Fit the two springs in position by hooking one
end of a spring over the post on the upper arm
and stretching the spring until the free top can
be hooked over the corresponding post at the
joint. Repeat on the other side. (Fig 3).
Caution: Take care that no one is in line with
the spring as you stretch it in case you lose
grip and the spring snaps back.
2. Mount the adjustable arm assembly to the
base by fitting the stem into the support on
the base. Tighten the set screw to lock the arm
assembly in place (Fig 2).
