To reach the battery, lift the seat, then remove the battery compartment door by re-
moving the Phillips screw, "

The battery is the electrical device which requires the most frequent inspections and
diligent maintenance.
DEAD BATTERIES CAN HARM THE ENVIRONMENT. THE COLLECTION AND
DISPOSAL SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT IN COMPLIANCE WITH CURRENT REG-
ULATIONS.
THE ELECTROLYTE CONTAINS SULPHURIC ACID: AVOID CONTACT WITH
EYES, SKIN AND CLOTHES. IN THE CASE OF ACCIDENTAL CONTACT, RINSE
WITH PLENTY OF WATER AND CONSULT A DOCTOR.
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLES WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING,
THIS CAN CAUSE IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE ELECTRONIC
CENTRAL POWER UNIT.
